5 Life Hacks for People Who Aren't Morning People
Preface: I am not a morning person.
Now that we've gotten that out of the way, chances are, some of you aren't either. So I'm going to get straight to the point.
Here are 5 life hacks that can help your mornings go a little smoother.
1. Make sure the things you need are ready from the night before.
I'm pretty sure your parents may have told you this but it actually helps. If you know what you need, what you're going to eat, and what you're going to wear in the morning, Get it ready the night before, If you do this, you'll save a ton of time because you won't have to scramble around to get your life together.
2. Create a morning routine.
Put a list together of tasks that are important for your morning. Do you need to turn the coffee pot on while brushing your teeth? Do you need to make your bed with all of the 700 throw pillows to boot? Add it to your list.
3. Use workflow app to automate your morning.
I don't know if this app is available for Android but it is available for Apple. This app is incredible. You can take your morning tasks and set notifications, timers, and prompts that seamlessly run together to help your morning flow.
4. Meal prep breakfast items.
Try making overnight oats or boiling a dozen eggs at a time so you can grab your breakfast and go. If you're a coffee or tea drinker, get a coffee maker that has a timer and set that up from the night before. You can also use a coffee maker to make tea.
5. Insert 'You' time into your morning.
If I don't get my life together from the night before, I'm guaranteed to rush about. And if I'm rushing about I most certainly won't have time for myself in the morning. I need me time. I didn't realize how important this was until I starting having an hour to myself to journal, read, or just sit there. I've made a rule for myself where I don't look at social media (with the exception of Pinterest) until after 9 AM. This has significantly changed my mornings because I'm not getting bombarded by other peoples ideas first thing in the morning.
